Lojay & Sarz & Chris Brown – Monalisa

Talented Afro-fusion artist, Lojay and legendary producer Sarz release a remix of the 2021 smash single “Monalisa“, featuring R&B superstar Chris Brown.

Taken from their joint “LV N ATTN” EP last year, the original version of “Monalisa” became an early standout due to its hypnotic beat and melodious hooks, becoming not just one of the biggest releases in Nigeria. With over 100m plays and more than 30 Million views on Youtube it’s safe to say that Monalisa became something of a cultural phenomenon over time. Monalisa (Remix), is an enchanting record to enjoy and quite a vibeful one. It was a clash of talent between Lojay and Chris Brown. Speaking on the remix, Lojay says

“at the time I was creating this song I would have never imagined hearing a Chris Brown verse on it but the best part is he actually took his time and killed it and gave the song a different feel. He’s someone I’ve always wanted to work with so this is a really good feeling.”

Omah Lay- Woman

“Say anything I do is for my woman (Ah ah ah)
Anything at all wey you talk I go do am (Oh oh oh)”

With his sensational vocals and contagious rhythms, Omah Lay has become one of Nigeria’s most talked-about young stars of music. ”Woman”  is his second single for the year 2022 after a successful release of his previous hit single titled “Attention“, which he featured Justin Bieber. The track comes after his visit to FC Barcelona players while he was on his “Boy Alone” tour in Europe. The song was produced by P. Prime

Kuami Eugene – Take Away

Lynx Entertainment signee, Ghanaian musician and producer, Kuami Eugene is out with his first single in the year 2022 titled ‘Take Away”. The melodious track is one of the songs off his forthcoming EP dubbed ‘Rags2Riches’ The vocals marched perfectly with the beat and the message was well delivered.

This song comes days after Kuami Eugene and KiDi, his fellow Ghanaian artiste revealed that, they would be embarking on an Europe Tour in September 2022. They will tour 10 cities in 10 different days. The song was produced by Poppin Beats.

Moneybagg Yo & Kodak Black– Rocky Road

Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black link up for a new song titled “Rocky Road,” which marks Moneybag’s first lead single since his 2021 release, “ A Gangsta’s Pain”, was released on Monday (May 16) alongside a visual featuring the two. On the new track, Kodak Black  and Moneybagg exchange verses as they rap about self-reflection and repping their cities over a rapid-fire beat.

“Rocky Road” is not the first time both rappers would team up on a song. Back in 2018, Kodak Black got featured on Moneybagg’s 2018 album Reset, on which he spilled a verse to track “Lower Level.” Three years later, the two rappers featured on Yung Bleu’s 2021 album “Moon Boy? via “Angels Never Cry.”

Ckay & Silly Walks Discotheque – Maria

Renowned Chocolate City record producer and songwriter, CKay delivered a new mind-blowing tune. Serving as his debut for the year, the latest track, “Maria,” features the abilities of renowned German music group, Silly Walks Discotheque”. Maria is another new banger with a fantastic rhythm delivery and sensational melody typical to Ckay. With a compendium of the African drums and the percussion laced with fairly conducting Strings well-blended vocals, this new jam is surely one for the culture .

“Maria”serves as a follow-up to his recently released track tagged, “Emiliana”. The track was produced by

Simi – Naked Wire

“Naked Wire,” is another banger with a fantastic rhythm delivery and well-blended vocals from the talented songbird and vocal powerhouse, Simi.   On this one, she goes unaccompanied as she still showcases her sexual prowess and endowment on a beat accompanied by her sweet voice and acceptable lyrics.

Simi who is known for her vocal prowess and versatility in the music world, really went all in on this beautiful track. The song was produced by P Prime

Quavo & Takeoff (Unc & Phew) – Hotel Lobby

Unc and Phew have officially arrived. The rap duo, formed by Migos members Quavo and Takeoff, made their debut this week with the release of “Hotel Lobby”—their first record release under the new studio name. The Offset-lacking track was accompanied by a video to show Unc & Phew really mean business.

The track drooped amid ongoing Migos split rumors, which were further fueled by this new release from Unc and Phew’s new track with the absence of Offset. The speculation began earlier this week, when fans noticed that Quavo and Offset were no longer following each other on Instagram. Quavo was pressed about the speculations by a paparazzi while leaving LAX airport on Thursday but he refused to speak on the issue, and simply used the opportunity to promote “Hotel Lobby. The track was co-produced by Keanu Beats, Fabio Aguillarr & Murda Beatz.

Rihanna Puts To Bed!

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky welcome their first child

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky are officially parents according to TMZ, Rihanna has given birth to her and Rocky’s first child together nearly four months after first revealing to fans they were expecting via a now-iconic maternity shoot. According to the report, which cited the usual “sources with direct knowledge,” the couple welcomed a baby boy on May 13 in the Los Angeles area. A name has not been publicly revealed.  “Rihanna is doing well. They are very excited to be parents. Rihanna is already a wonderful mom,” the close sources said.

“I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I could,” she said. “And fashion is one of my favorite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal. It can get uncomfortable at times and so you can dress the part and pretend.”

New XXXTentacion Documentary: Look At Me

Hulu shares new trailer for the documentary Look at me: XXXTentacion

Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, professionally known as XXXTentacion, was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who lived from January 23, 1998 till June 18, 2018. Though a, controversial figure due to his occasional legal troubles, XXXTentacion gained a large fanbase during his short career with his depression and alienation-themed music. X was well-known for his musical versatility with his music ranging from emo, drill, trap, lo-fi, indie rock, nu metal, hip hop, R&B, and punk rock. He is considered to be one of the GOATS in the emo-rap and Sound Cloud genres which caught mainstream attention just at the peak of the rapper’s career before his death.

Earlier today, Hulu unveiled the trailer for their new documentary about the late 20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion titled, Look at Me: XXXTENTACION, which is due out later this month. Look at Me has been in production with Fader Films since at least 2017, when it was originally commissioned by The Fader.

The preview shares various moments from the rapper’s promising career, which was cut short when he was shot and killed on June 18, 2018 as well as a gripping teaser into the life of the late talented rap star, with his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, addressing XXX’s abuse allegations.. One section of the preview touches on the battery allegations XXXTentacion faced in 2017, when his ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala accused him of various acts of violence against her.  XXXTentacion denied the claims in an interview with XXL in 2017. The case was still open when the rapper died. It was officially closed two months after XXXTentacion’s death. Following his passing, in 2019, Geneva would appear in his posthumous video for the song “Hearteater.”

“Jahseh was like, ‘No, mom. It’s not true.’ And a part of me took that and run with it,” XXXTentacion says in the trailer.

XXXTentacion’s documentary was first announced back in 2019, on the one-year anniversary of the rapper’s untimely death. It first appeared at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival in March. The documentary is set to debut on Hulu on 26th May. The upcoming documentary, which is directed by Sabaah Folayan “portrays a front row view of an artist whose acts of violence, raw musical talent and open struggles with mental health left an indelible mark on his generation and the world of music before his death at the age of 20,” according to the film’s synopsis.

XXXTentacion was killed in Florida in 2018. Despite his huge levels of popularity at the time of his death, X has remained one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop. He faced numerous legal charges at the time of his death, including aggravated battery of a pregnant woman (His then Girlfriend), domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering. He pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations. Recently, he made two posthumous appearances on Kanye West’s Donda 2.

Dababy Melts Hearts In Lagos

DaBaby put a smile on the face of a popcorn seller in Lagos.

Dababy seems to be always trending for the wrong reasons but not today. Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, professionally known as Dababy and formerly known as Baby Jesus, is an American rapper. The Interscope rapper is in Nigeria to shoot a video for a song with Davido. He landed in Lagos on Monday, 16th May, 2022.

In a video which has gone viral on social medial, the rapper bought some packs of popcorn from the hawker while stuck in traffic and gave the young man a $100 bill. Tycoone who was in the car with DaBaby could be seen asking the popcorn seller how much Dababy paid, but the hawker kust stood there smiling. He then turned to the US artiste who hugged the popcorn gleefully as they laughed.

Dababy has been quite busy this year, musicwise and controversywise. In February 2022, Dababy and his crew assaulted his ex girlfriend, DaniLeigh’s brother Brandon Bills at a bowling alley in the Los Angeles area. Also, back In April, he came under scrutiny after the release of a surveillance tape which captured him opening fire on a trespasser at his Troutman, North Carolina estate earlier that month. Even though no one was charged for the incident at Dababy’s Troutman home, people on social media still had a lot to say about Dabby.
Musicwise, last week, DaBaby dropped two hot tracks for fans to enjoy. The first is “Wig” featuring Moneybagg Yo and the other is “Bonnet” featuring Pooh Shiesty

Stand Strong Lyrics

[Intro] Rii!

[Verse 1] Papa told me, “Keep your head up high
Even though your body full of bite marks from all dem canines” (All dem canines, yeah, yeah)
Steady moving, I’m just living life
And so many people in my business, so many chookin’ eyes

[Pre-Chorus 1] My fears are easier to face now (Face now)
In the front of my haters
Steady chasing my paper (Ooh-ooh)
Sipping Martel with no chaser (Ooh)
My steps are guided by Jehovah
And 44 looking over
Dem no fit stop us, I know that
And every show is a shutdown (Uh, uh)
[Chorus] ‘Cuz I stand strong
O.B.O no go minus
O.B.O Elemi 9 plus
Big fish flow like the Ocean, oh
Omo I stand Strong
30BG dey my back, oh
O.B.O Elеmi 9 plus
Can’t deny my devotion, no

[Post-Chorus] ‘Cuz I stand strong
O.B.O no go minus
O.B.O Elemi 9 plus
Can’t dеny my devotion, no

[Verse 2] Look in my eyes
You see the money and the fame, we’re successful
You really don’t know what’s going on in my life
In my life (What’s going on in my life, yeah, yeah)
No pleasure comes from pain
No money fall like rain
This thing dey burst my brain
But it’s all love (It’s all love)
[Pre-Chorus 2] My fears are easier to face now (Face now)
In the front of my haters
Steady chasing my paper
Sipping Martel with no chaser
My steps are guided by Jehovah (Ooh-ooh)
And my mama looking over (Ooh-ooh)
Yes, we rise by lifting others (Ooh-ooh)
And that is the law of the lantern (Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh)

[Chorus] ‘Cuz I stand Strong
