6 Things To Do After A Bad Break Up

Have you just broken up with the supposed love of your life? Does it feel like your heart is about to come out of your chest?

What went wrong? You might ask. It is unbelievable. You cannot imagine that after dating for a few years, a lover comes to you tells you the overused slogan “it’s not you, it’s me, but we can still be friends”.

While we insist that you always realize that bad relationships should not be the end of you, it can be hard to leave someone you once deeply cared for.

Now, instead of crying for days, doing something drastic and coming home with a felony record, you can forget all about those tiring and time-wasting things and choose to do something else.

1. Watch A Comedy Series

Comedy is a known remedy for anything including breakups. This isn’t the time to binge-watch 12 reasons why or Riverdale. This is the time to watch The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Blackish or the world’s personal favorite Friends.

Do some episodes of Jenifa Series, Skinny Girl in Transit. The plan is for you to get lost in the antics of your favorite actors. So wear your comfiest clothes, get a bowl of popcorn, snuggle with your tab, laptop or phone and get ready to laugh away your sorrows.

2. Get A New Hobby

Getting a new hobby doesn’t entail baking or knitting, those are old people hobbies.

Try something like mixed martial arts, learn a new language, take a dancing class, try taking a cooking class or join the gym. Nothing empties your mind and numbs your heart like the exhilaration you get from learning something new.

The above will help you channel your energy. If you don’t like the above, learn an instrument. Whatever makes you expressive? Do it.

3. Hit The Clubs

Remember the saying “out with the old, in with new”? Well out with the slimy old boyfriend and in with the new hot boy that is a friend. Don’t jump into a new relationship, you don’t need a rebound. Go out with your friends, have some drinks, dance a lot and make new friends.

Never go to the club alone as that is a recipe for disaster.

Dance like you have no care in the world because you really don’t have a care. Drink but don’t get sloppy drunk.

4. Listen to New Music

If you and your ex loved the same type of music or the same artists, it is advisable to branch out of your comfort zone.

Listen to a new genre of music or music in a new language.

An advisable language is South Korean, they have the finest boys and the most sensible lyrics. You can also listen to the sonorous voice of Khalid. His songs will make you forget about everything.

5. Take Baths

Baths are meditating, cleansing and are for pampering. Which makes them perfect for breakups. When was the last time you really filled up your tub and had a good soak with a glass (bottle) of wine?

Showers are not for the recently dumped. Take your time relaxing in your bath with a book and music in the background. Let the water soothe your mood and heart.

6. Prepare To Date Again

Remember his loss is another person’s gain, so forget about him, think about yourself and don’t forget there is someone else out there made just for you.

Also note, you can grief for a reasonable time.

And after a while, it is okay to date again.

There are other more honorable finer fishes in the sea. Don’t miss out on them because of a teeny tiny break-up.

5 Reasons That Make People Fall In Love.

Being in a long term relationship and keeping the spark alive is hard. But not impossible. Here are some of the things that made people fall in love again with their partners.

1. Knowing How To Make The Other Smile

Partners that don’t mind listening to their significant other complain about the bad day they had and that can make an effort to lighten the other’s mood are rare. Having the dinner ready, offering an unsolicited massage or telling a silly joke just to make the other smile shows real care and love.

2. Accepting Everything

Being accepted for who you are, with all your flaws and weaknesses is a wonderful feeling. Knowing that no matter what you do or say your partner will not judge you is a liberating feeling that can only make you love your partner more.

3. Being Funny

Knowing how to make others laugh without being mean, to make fun of yourself first and look at the world and seeing the absurdity of it is an art. If your partner is gifted in this sense, you are lucky.

4. Being Adventurous

One of the best parts about being in a relationship is discovering the world through another person’s eyes. If this person is animated by a sense of adventure, if they know how to make you leave your fears behind and how to make your world larger and richer, your relationship can hardly become boring.

5. Being Passionate

Being totally caught up in their work, being excited about topics that are indifferent to others can show you their capacity for passion in general and this can only be a good omen for your relationship.

Ways To Handle Campus Stress

It is not an unpopular opinion to say that University is the most stressful time in a youth’s life – well at least before you into the workforce.

Basically, nothing that comes before can compare with the magnitude of pressure students face in school.

The classes, assignments, tests, deadlines whilst still trying to have a social life. Sometimes 24 hours doesn’t seem to be enough.

These guidelines would by no means totally eliminate stress. Stress is a part of life and its inevitable.

I’m here to teach you how to “manage” University stress in order to balance academic success and healthy social life.

The first mistake students make especially new ones is that they overwhelm themselves trying to hit that 1st class.

This makes them think they have to make a choice between education or having a social life.

You don’t have to choose, you just have to balance them out, after all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and all play an no work renders the reason why you’re in school mute.

That being said, if you ever have to make a choice between both then your academic should take precedent.

This leads to the first lesson

You have to understand that your primary purpose for being in school is to get an education.

So when a friend asks you to tag along to a rave and you have a test or exam around the corner then stay home and study.

If you’re going to spend years of your life getting an education, its best you actually GET IT.

If you’re going to sacrifice your sleep for anything then let it be for school.

It’s inevitable, you’re going to have sleepless nights in uni, but don’t make it into a habit. Getting 8 hours of sleep is excellent for Optimal brain function.

Constant sleep deprivation is linked to a decline in both long term and short term memory.

How do you hope to perform well in school with bad memory? Do not ket social functions cut to deep into your night time especially on a school night.

Have A Personal Time Table

Every school has a time table, but do you have a personal time table? If you don’t then get yourself one.

A regimented life is a stress-free life – well, not completely stress-free but you get my point.

Set out time to study, 2 hours a day keeps failure away and/or a comprehensive study during the weekend also helps.

Avoid Distractions

Distractions come in many forms, from that cheating boyfriend to that PlayStation you always think about playing while in class.

Have fun, have friends, have a relationship or relationships but when that starts to place undue stress on you find a way to manage those distractions.

Late night parties on a school night is a bad idea, spending too much time fighting your bf/gf is a bad idea.

Remember rule number one, prioritize! Nothing should come before studies.

Manage Your Expenses

It would be an injustice if this isn’t mentioned. Money is a scarce resource but as a student, that scarcity is on a whole different level.

As students, the expenses seem to be unending, from Food to handouts and a ton of miscellaneous expenses.

Thinking about the next meal can lead to a great deal of stress.

This is where a scale of preference comes in, Everything that you NEED should come first in other if importance, followed by everything you WANT.

If possible avoid indulging as many wants as possible and if you ever have to pick between say getting food and transporting yourself to school, pick food.

You can study with your friends on a later date, but between food and handout or tests that would factor into your GPA then the choice is clear.

This is where you need to use your discretion, this is where delayed gratification comes in.

Hunger is temporary, CGPA is forever.

In conclusion learning all of these would be impossible without discipline, they would prove useful years after school and in every facet of your life.

If you are going to embark on any life journey, put your back into it and do it well.

You can go to school more than once but its best you do it once and excel in it.

It is profitable to learn from lessons than from personal experience.

FOOD: 8 Reasons You Need To Eat Vegetables

We are all aware the incredible benefits of eating vegetables provides – people who eat more vegetables and fruits as part of an overall healthy diet are likely to have a reduced risk of some chronic diseases such as Obesity, high blood pressure, etc.
Vegetables not only provide nutrients vital for health but can be good source maintenance of your body. In fact, there is a lot to lose when you don’t eat vegetables. Eating too few fruits and veggies can result in nutrient deficiencies.

1. Natural Immunity From Sickness
Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients, including potassium, folate (folic acid), vitamin A, and vitamin C.
Diets rich in potassium may help to maintain healthy blood pressure. Vegetable sources of potassium include sweet potatoes, white potatoes, white beans, tomato products (paste, sauce, and juice), beet greens, soybeans, lima beans, spinach, lentils, and kidney beans.
Now when you don’t eat them, you’re more prone to digestive ailments such as constipation, hemorrhoids, and diverticulosis.
Vegetables also contain cellulose, which increases stool weight, eases passage, and reduces transit time.
In addition, they contain fiber, which Moore says “helps to alleviate or prevent constipation, stimulates the GI tract muscles so they retain their strength and resist bulging out into pouches called diverticula, and reduces pressure on the lower bowel, making it less likely for rectal veins to swell [which causes hemorrhoids].
A study from Harvard Medical School showed that a diet high in dietary fiber, which fruits and veggies provide, reduces the risk for diverticular disease.

2. Natural Weight Checker
Most vegetables are naturally low in fat and calories. None have cholesterol. (Sauces or seasonings may add fat, calories, and/or cholesterol.) Hence they can help you maintain your weight.

Folate (folic acid) is one of the nutrients that is gained from eating vegetables. Folate helps the body form red blood cells. Women of childbearing age who may become pregnant should consume adequate folate from foods.
And in addition 400 mcg of synthetic folic acid from fortified foods or supplements. This reduces the risk of neural tube defects, spina bifida, and anencephaly during fetal development.

4. Blood Pressure Machine
Beyond just providing blood, vegetables also act to monitor the blood.
A diet high in sodium and low in fruits and vegetables will contribute to higher blood pressure.
The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) study proved that a diet rich in fruits and veggies can reduce blood pressure—and in people who already had hypertension, the diet reduced their blood pressure as much as medications can.

5. Beauty Maintenance
Vegetables have a high level of Vitamin A which keeps the eyes and skin healthy and helps to protect against infections.
Broccoli, for instance, is full of many vitamins and minerals important for skin health, including zinc, vitamin A and vitamin C.
It also contains lutein, a carotenoid that works like beta-carotene. Lutein protects your skin from oxidative damage, which can cause your skin to become dry and wrinkled. But broccoli florets also pack a special compound called sulforaphane, which boasts some impressive potential benefits. It may even have anti-cancer effects, including on some types of skin cancer.
Sulforaphane is also a powerful protective agent against sun damage. It works in two ways: by neutralizing harmful free radicals and switching on other protective systems in your body.

6. Friendly Stomach
Vegs helps reduce constipation and diverticulosis. Fiber-containing foods such as vegetables help provide a feeling of fullness with fewer calories. it makes it easy to have bowel movements.
Eating foods such as vegetables that are lower in calories per cup instead of some other higher-calorie food may be useful in helping to lower calorie intake.
You could develop digestive problems if you are not taking a lot of vegs.

7. General Healing
Vegetables contain Vitamin C and that can help to heal cuts and wounds and keeps teeth and gums healthy. Vitamin C aids in iron absorption.
It also keeps your skin fresh and healthy.
It is good for your hair growth, fingernails, etc.

Antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and carotenoids may reduce cancer risks by protecting healthy cells from free radicals,” says Dr. Moore.
Carotenoids—pigments including beta-carotene, which can be found in spinach, other dark leafy greens, deep orange fruits, sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots—may protect against cellular damage and have been associated with lower rates of cancer.
In addition, consuming too much fat has been linked to cancer; so replacing those unhealthy foods with a diet high in fruits and veggies will lower your risk. These foods can actually lower your risk of getting cancer.
